Course Description
Building superintendents play an integral role in the safety of every occupant of your building, whether they be staff, residents, or visitors. This course is designed to provide them with everything they need to react in an emergency and to prevent false alarms. At the conclusion of this course, Superintendents will have a thorough understanding of their building’s fire safety features and functions and will know exactly what is needed of them by their local first responders if an emergency were to occur.

Superintendent will know what the first responders need on arrival for alarm situations of any type

Superintendents will become familiar with the locations and functions of their building fire safety equipment, alarm panel, hose cabinets, fire extinguishers, standpipes, master keys, shut-offs, elevators, and more

What is required and needs to be inside Fire Safety Plan Box

All training will be in accordance with the standards set forth by the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Ontario Fire Code

Course includes:

3 hours of on-site training

Photos will be taken on scene for fire department use in case of emergencies (e.g. shut offs for gas, water, electrical, alarm panel, elevator controls, etc…)

These photos will be laminated and put in Fire Safety Plan Box

1 spare lock and key for Fire Safety Plan Box
Course Times: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.ā
The price of this course is the amount charged for only 1 fire truck to respond to a false alarm. Many larger municipal fire departments charge for up to 4 trucks per false alarm.
